Barbarians at the Lake
What's wrong with bowfishing?
By Robert Rice

bowhunter
I thought after noodling, seining, electric sampling, dip netting, deep-sea fishing and every kind of hook and line fishing I could find that I had done it all. As life tends to do I found out otherwise. There is a subculture of Fishermen that have a zest and passion for fishing that is lost in many circles. MORE

Throw Down Your Shovel and Grab Your Bow:
Why February is the best month to be a bowfisherman.
by Sam Wood

bowhunters and carp
Being a diehard bowfisherman and an avid outdoorsman from Wisconsin, you might think that I view February as the worst month of the year. All the hunting seasons are closed, ice covers all the lakes, and frigid temperatures keep most people indoors reminiscing of past seasons or planning for the next. This is far from the truth for me. You see, February is one of the best bowfishing months in Wisconsin. You read it right, FEBRUARY IS DEFINITLY ONE OF THE BEST MONTHS IN WISCONSIN! MORE

1000 bucks if we cant help your lake !

Lakes will rebound if the mucking carp are controlled. So here goes we are going to put our money where our mouth is. Give us one year, access to one lake in the Twin Cities area, pay for the carp disposal and we will improve that lakes water quality or we will give you 1000 bucks! MORE

Where are they now?
Bigtime Bowfishing First time Carp cup challenge winner Sam Wood reports that he is neck deep in video production on his second DVD. He apparently took the Carpbusters model to heart and has concentrated for the last 3 years on invasive exotics harvest and public education. He speaks to trade shows about the selective harvest opportunities bowfishing offers and does a light tournament schedule all the while talking about the day he harvested 1200 silver carp in 5 hours. His record is a record that has yet to be matched. Check out his 1st DVD Here.
