Carpbuster Tournies 2008

Our Tournies are a combination public education event and competitive tourney. They are designed to focus on a problem and build up a local following. We are not a tourney organization per say. We do occasional tournies that fit into our broader agenda. We always work with the local biologist to follow their lead. We will be filming the 2008 tournies for a DVD. We have three projected events with some details to work out but here they are:

The Snakehead Pro Shop/Carpbusters sportsmen challenge
June 14th 2008. So Far it looks to limited to 100 folks. ESPN is expressing interest in highlighting the Event fish can be taken by bow or by rod n reel.

Minnesota Carp Busters Challenge
Twin Cities area, looking to finalize dates soon expect an August date and lots of local media support. Carp only, harvested fishes used by a turtle farmer.

Iowa Carpbusters Challenge
Lake Rathburn Iowa details to follow on the website at Carpbusters.com

We will declare a National Champion from all Carpbusters 08 events via simple numbers , as in harvest the most invasives during Carpbusters events and win the 2008 Carp cup and 500 bucks. Check the website for all events.

A local Carpbusters chapter?
It's in the works! Look for the next Buster newsletter to begin trickling out the contact info of the local Carpbusters chapters that are springing up as we speak across the country. We are working out the details and dotting our eyes and crossing our teeth or something like that, but we are working on it. It will be good news for sportsmen and bad news for invasive exotic beasts of all types.
